Frequently Asked Questions
This page will answer questions commonly asked by students and parents.
Who is responsible for repairs to my instrument?
It is the responsibility of the student to handle their instrument with the best of care and daily maintenance.
If something goes wrong, the student must show their instrument to the band instructor as soon as possible. The band instructor will try to fix any small repairs that can be done at school.
However, when the instrument needs to be repaired at a music store, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to make sure that the instrument is taken to a music store as soon as possible. The cost of the repair will be the responsibility of the family.
Do I need to be at all concerts?
All band students are expected to be at all concerts. Band is a performance art. Band is also a team effort. Everyone needs to be there to do their part to provide the best sound possible.
If a student has a legitimate reason for not being able to attend a performance, the band instructor must be made aware, well in advance, by the parent/guardian.
